Therapeutic Approach

“Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”
James Baldwin

Reaching out to a therapist can feel daunting - and the idea of opening up to someone you don’t yet know, about deeply personal challenges, can be even more overwhelming. Finding a counsellor who feels like a good fit for you is an important first step. Evidence suggests that it is the relationship you have with your therapist that is pivotal in positive therapeutic outcomes.

I am experienced in working with a wide range of issues, such as:

• low self-esteem

• anxiety

• depression

• interpersonal relationships

• trauma

• struggles with identity and direction

These are examples and I am very likely to be able to offer help with whatever difficulty may be troubling you.

I offer a compassionate, supportive space where clients can explore themselves more deeply and gain insight into the challenges that may be impacting their relationships - both with others and with themselves.
I work from a therapy room that is part of my home. It provides a private, discrete and safe space for client sessions. Somewhere quiet and undisturbed, where we can think about what has made us who we are, and what aspects of ourselves we might want to work on together. Understanding this is often a good starting point for a journey towards change and improvement.

Therapy is a shared endeavour that encourages curiosity about who you are, and what events and experiences in your life might have influenced this. Therapy also fosters self-awareness and understanding, which helps us to heal and grow. It can help you, whether you are exploring changes, or struggling to deal with aspects of your life that you feel are beyond your control.

The therapeutic process is about developing a deeper understanding of yourself over time. It empowers and enables you to move forward with confidence and to make changes. Ultimately therapy can help you move towards a better future.
