Welcome to John Walker Psychotherapy & Counselling

I understand and appreciate that right now, there may be aspects of your life that you are finding difficult, and that consequently you may find yourself struggling to deal with them.

You might be feeling anxious or depressed.

Maybe you are feeling angry or sad.

Are you feeling stressed by a certain situation or relationship in your life.

Is loss, through a bereavement or a relationship breakdown overwhelming you.

You could be feeling stuck, with no direction or meaning to your Life.

Whatever your personal difficulties, feelings of despair, anxiety and being unable to cope can be overwhelming for all of us at times. Professional help could be what you need to move forward, and looking for a therapist is a big and brave step towards this. It could lead to changes and improvements in your thoughts, your feelings, your relationships and your life. Together, in a collaborative effort, we can look at what is troubling you and help you to find a way through to a better place.

I am John and I am a Psychodynamic Therapist and Counsellor, accredited with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I have a Master of Arts Degree in Psychodynamic Counselling and Therapy from Essex University. During my four years of training, I underwent intensive personal therapy myself. These experiences have left me with a passionate belief in the potentially life enhancing benefits that therapy can bring.

Speaking to a therapist can help reduce distress and anxiety and make sense of troubling past and present things. It can be an opportunity to reflect on feelings and emotions, explore personal experience and gain new perspectives.
